BSNC is also developing the structure to assist neighborhood emergency preparedness organizations as well.

BSNC Membership: Neighborhood Watch Groups that belong to the BSNC pay annual dues of $10. These dues are due each January.

Meetings:  Please maintain your record of activity by informing the Community Services Bureau (CSB) of the Berkeley Police Department of your meetings.  Meeting with your Beat Officer MUST BE SCHEDULED 1 WEEK IN ADVANCE by calling the Community Services Bureau at 510-981-5808.

Benefits your neighborhood group receives from joining BSNC:
Special Notices for BSNC meetings and related events, plus other useful public safety materials.
A once yearly Refuse Dumpster for your neighborhood, available after the annual dues have been paid and your group has had two meetings for the current calendar year, which were scheduled through the CSB Office and included a Beat Officer or other City Official.

BSNC Meetings:  BSNC meetings are usually held the first Monday (excluding holidays) of each month. They begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Public Safety Building, 2100 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.  If you prefer to receive your notices by Electronic Communications please sign in below.

Each monthly meeting features discussions on public safety and emergency preparedness issues. Often, experts make special presentations and discussions from the Police Department or other City Departments. Meetings also feature round-table discussions in which members share ideas and suggest solutions to various neighborhood-based problems.

History:    BSNC was formed in 1980 as a non-profit corporation that promotes crime prevention, public safety and emergency preparedness concepts in partnership with the Berkeley Police Department.
